Even before widespread generative ai, there were tons of articles that only existed to discretly sell a product or push a narrative. Not that it was perfect during my lifetime, or probably ever, but I miss the days of real journalism.

What scares me is when AI gets good at making slop. Better than or comparable to Hollywood. What then? Like I don't want to consume generative AI content, but what's the point of humans making content after that?

Every time I open a new article I always do a quick Ctrl+F for "delve" and "embark" to decide if it's worth my time.

I've very rapidly gone from being apathetic to GenAI to openly despising it because its #1 use seems to be flooding the internet with garbage. As if it wasn't already hard enough to fine information.
