I can't tell you how many layers of hell I went through to get this all working. From networking to recording, compression, and playback BUT IT WORKS AHHHHH I AM EXPERIENCING SO MUCH DOPAMEMES RIGHT NOW I can't wait to launch this and begin growing the male Clip It demographic!

I'm a big fan of this story on how brand partners are giving developers ridiculously low cuts of larger deals. Brand reps should be getting ~10-30% depending on how involved they are - that's how this usually works on other platforms!! On Roblox they often taken 50-90%! digiday.com/media/top-ro...

#1 way of scaring away a brand partner trying to pull a sketchy deal on you: After they share your cut ask them what the total deal size is. Most brand partners refuse to share this number because they know it will make them look bad.

Ya'll it took me 5 fucking months of on and off debugging - thousands of vague reports of "clip audio isn't working" "my songs aren't loading" "I can't hear anything!!" to figure out the source of my pains It's Roblox's new audio system not setting "IsReady" sometimes - even if the audio *is* ready

I'm really really REALLY FUCKING REALLY not kidding when I say thousands of reports. This has been gaslighting me for so long. I cannot express how much time I have wasted "fixing" my own code and trying to resolve this. I've been sober for 2 years but I want a drink after this

also pls ignore the soundObject:Stop bug I added while debugging lmao. I have nearly lost it trying to resolve this. It's like if YouTube got reports of audio not working and they had no idea why - and it turned out to be a bug with iOS

Our UI designer & programmer "pashley" has been refreshing various UIs in Clip It. We're on a pretty tight timeline so he hasn't had a chance to be as detailed as he'd really like, but I think he's been kicking butt Here's a before/after on some of our most important store/upsell interfaces

Received a letter from POTUS today purporting to remove me as Commissioner and Chair of the FEC. There's a legal way to replace FEC commissioners-this isn't it. I've been so fortunate to serve the American people and stir up some good trouble along the way. That's not changing anytime soon.

Working on a 3d purchase visual. It converts 2d asset images from our live trending-sales wall into 3d models during runtime There's some extra effects with tweening & tilting that I show at the end - excited to start testing this in production Clip It servers! #RobloxDev

When making your experience's thumbnail/icon don't try to mimic other popular experiences If you're lucky, you might get a burst for a bit but it will quickly lose qPTR - if you make something unique enough your thumbnail qPTR lives for so much longer. At least this is our experience with Clip It!

Been thinking if we did a community challenge where we come together for a week for a big push.. it could consist of: - Leaving a tweet mentioning that you're out for a week participating in the Roblox Dev Bluesky movement - Deleting twitter on your phone, signing out of it on PC - Using Bluesky

I love it here, it feels so wholesome. I am going to try to enjoy it as much as I can before the adult entertainer spammers, crypto bots, marketing bots, and politics enter. Side note: I wonder if there's something we can do as a community to encourage even more of RTC to migrate over?

The second benefit is of course making Roblox Dev twitter quieter for a week to encourage more mass migrations over here. I feel like Bluesky is getting some real momentum and I want to see our community make the jump so badly.

We'd all pick a date & do it in unison. You're not locked into staying off Twitter forever, just attempt it for a week & share with your followers I think a lot of people (definitely myself) just need to try ripping the bandaid off and see what it's like exclusively on the other side. Thoughts?

I'm noticing more and more lately that articles online just feel so cold and repetitive. Part way through some of them I realize it's most definitely ChatGPT written and I think immediately stop caring about whatever is being shared. I hate GenAI sometimes 😭

I'm not one of those people who hates AI everything, either I love it for programming or mocking up designs for artists.. But I do not enjoy consuming it at all. I don't care how coherent your AI videos or writing skills are, my brain suddenly tells me it's not worth my attention or time

clip it feature cycle lately - See a talented creator put tons of effort into something that goes viral - Figure out how to make that thing take 10 - 100x less effort and easily accessible - Make it an official feature for all - Average clip quality on the feed rises 🔁🔁🔁

One such example is filters. They started when players began putting gradients (partly transparent color overlays) covering their entire screen to tint their clips. Next they began to flash different colors to sync to the beat of music Now we have a native filters feature that takes 2 taps total
