When I moved into my first apt in California, within a couple months some teenager doing 60+ in a 30 caught air in an ex-police crown victoria and took out not one but TWO consecutive power poles. We were black for at least a week iirc and I lost most of the food in my fridge.

I'm sure that pole jumped out of nowhere and wasn't wearing disco ball clothing so was completely unavoidable.

Seattle Light does sometimes put replacement poles on tiny blocks of wood for a few weeks, so this is sadly plausible.

I wanted to know which Ebike had that much power. And maybe how much it costs.

Why would e-bikes do this to drivers?

I used to be a utility locator. I marked out where buried lines were for excavations. A lot of my emergency call outs at night involved cars and solid roadside objects like utility poles. And alcohol.

I hope their parents ground them.

Every e-bike accident makes me think about this, that people are missing the car accidents and asthma attacks that would've happened instead (and wars, btw). I still have to support some regs on idiots and children on powerful e-bikes, but there's a baby in this bathwater.
