An ideology formed around an agreed hate, and an ideology formed around agreed care will see it as different things. While it's not going to sway progressives, it will sway conservatives.

This is because the message that the conservatives are receptive too is "the people we have agreed to hate as conservatives could receive care too". They're fully ready to hurt themselves if they think it will hurt those they hate.
