Cadette (feral cat, not particularly attached to humans) left her kittens about a week ago They used to not come too close to me Now that their mom is not influencing them anymore, they're my absolute best buds. They do the thing where they put their paw on your to ask you to pet them more. Epic.

Sucks not knowing where on earth Cadette went but... hell.. I never knew where she came from either, so... that queen is probably somewhere out there giving zero fucks (about people, and giving lots of fucks to other cats, cause she got away intact. Whoops)

It's also been suggested to me that a feral dog might have eaten her, but one of those fellas snuck into my yard once and sat with the cats, so probably not... The feral dogs have been shockingly chill. I knew they were here, literally geared up to face them. Nope. No danger.

Two interesting things about this small town: - there's both feral dogs and feral cats, so they grow up around each other (which makes them less likely to fight, from what I've read) - all these animals aren't afraid of fireworks because of the venues here having displays every weekend for events
