Some times, I remember how under Obama the only computer with access to official Presidential social media accounts was underground the White House and run by military intelligence officers because it was the word of the American people on the world stage. You know. That kind of meant something.

It still does. Outside the US we read Trump's social media and take that as the official position of the US government and many millions of US citizens. Trump is "the word of American people on the world stage."
