Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

This platform is full of authors and artists who don't like having their work stolen.

I think that may be the core division here: if you are an author or an artist the cons of generative AI very likely outweigh the pros for you If you are a software developer the opposite is true

If you’re a software developer you can learn how to code And then if things don’t work, you can figure out how to adjust the code And even better, you can teach others how the code works Literally everything AI knows how to do *had to be taught/taken from humans first*. There is nothing original.

Context would be useful to explain why you didn't just use find & replace or multi-cursor.

What went wrong when you tried regexp search & replace for this?

The things that needed replacing were themselves embedded in strings - I needed to turn every [ into a " and every ] into a " but only only if they were inside a single or double or triple quoted string that represented a SQL create table statement That's not an easy regex!
