At the risk of starting the flame war to end all flame wars... Modern LLMs (GPT-5.1, Claude 4.5, Gemini 3) produce excellent code and can be a significant productivity boost to software engineers who take the time to learn how to effectively apply them - especially if used with coding agent tools

People who start off with "at the risk of starting the flame war..." are usually hoping to start a flame war. Don't take the bait. Sure, if LLM's work for you, go for it. For me, I prefer to do my own thinking, and get a deeper understanding of the problems I'm coding for.

Why would you want to bait people?

It’s silly and honestly makes me double down against the hype. Why not be honest and considerate if the tech is already there?

And if you’re right, why be a jerk about it? It’s understandable people would be resistant to something that means mass displacement of jobs?
