One thing I wonder about the impact of genAI is on current art. Because if I'm buying stock photos and the like to use I tend to search by date for things a few years old to make sure I'm not wading through AI slop. But I realize that means legit current photography's being left out. Not great.

I was looking on i think shutterstock, and while they have a ‘generate your perfect image’ (ugh), they also have an ‘exclude ai’ from their search. Idk how well it works, whether its just honor system or what, but I did click it and the results seemed mostly like real photos.

Yeah, the honor system part is what does it. Creative Market in theory lets you filter out AI results but not everyone tags appropriately. I bought one stock photo that after I felt hinky about, which I hate. I want to be supporting real artists and real people!
