“I had that dream again. The one where I could have sworn I felt the wind as it shifted off the water. The sun began to warm the distant slopes and light the tops of nearby trees. I had that dream again, where I felt completely free.” "Remnants: Tranquility" #Watercolor, #gouache, #coffee #dragons

I love my feed here. In a world where AI slop is hard to escape, it fills my soul to see all of you creating from your hearts. Doesn't matter how simple or complex the result. What does is that you all have a POV and something of yourself you want to share. It's beautiful.

Someone bragged to me that they spent four hours working on prompts for an AI generated graphic. I feel like I deserve a medal for not pointing out I personally wouldn't brag about needing four hours to generate something that looks exactly the same as everyone else's shitty AI generated stuff.

I get another medal for not adding "When in those four hours did you make sure to specify you wanted it to have a shit brown filter over it? Because if this is truly your vision you must have said you really wanted it in the final product, right?"

Another August birthday brings another hand drawn card. As before, I'm keeping the card details private. But this is what I drew for the background. Their favorite color is green so, yanno. Monochrome seemed like a fun way to go. #Botanical #Leaves #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

Every so often I try drawing in a different style to see what it's like. Sometimes I pick up a new technique that I love. Other times every atom of my being screams that what I'm creating is WRONG WRONG WRONG and won't stop until I do it my way. So, yanno. Learning process either way.

My aunt's birthday is today. This is only part of the card I made for her but the card has personal info. So just this as a preview. Her favorite colors are blue, yellow, and green so I hope she likes this and the result. #Botanical #Flowers #FloralArt #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

I love the argument that those of us who don't like AI just don't understand it. No, I understand it fine. Amazingly I don't feel a need to outsource my brain to an environment destroying plagiarism machine that is as useless as a calculator that can't do math.

One thing I wonder about the impact of genAI is on current art. Because if I'm buying stock photos and the like to use I tend to search by date for things a few years old to make sure I'm not wading through AI slop. But I realize that means legit current photography's being left out. Not great.

It's my dad's birthday today so I made him a little something. I asked him to give me a color palette to work with and this is what I turned it into. Hopefully he likes it! #Botanical #Flowers #FloralArt #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

Though it's been said many times, many ways, Merry Christmas to you! Hope you have a happy one if you celebrate. Enjoy Chinese food and/or just have a nice Thursday if you don't. #ArtAdventCalendar #Christmas #Holly #HollyBerries #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

Last of the 12 days of drawings with Gia Graham. I'm glad I did it. It was a fun exercise in going out of my comfort zone, trying new things, and seeing how my fellow artists tackled the same sketch. Definitely worthwhile and fun. #ArtAdventCalendar #Christmas #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨

One of the best events on Bluesky. I've seen so many new art and artists I wouldn't have otherwise, and in a variety of mediums as well. Props to Jay and everyone who participated for making it happen.

I don't have any way to verify this but I'm pretty sure that #ArtAdventCalendar is the biggest media event of the year on Bluesky. We'll be close to 9000 posts by the end of tomorrow. One thing I am positive of is that it is the most accessible event with a 97% AltText usage rate.

This piece was in our main library in 2015 for a couple of months & a woman told me she would stop by on her lunch break & just sit & look at it almost daily because it gave her some peace. Few better compliments. Shore 55×40 140×101cm Oil on Canvas 2015 #ArtAdventCalendar

12 days of drawings with Gia Graham continues, using her sketch as a base. This one was fun. I've never played around with glass in a picture before, so that was interesting to try. #ArtAdventCalendar #SnowGlobe #Christmas #Art #ProcreateArtist 🎨
