My pickleball building code strategy is to adopt European window standards so that we can buy and manufacture triple-glazed tilt-and-turn windows at affordable prices that actually keep sound out

Zoning for pickleball… I guess we need to focus on the issues of our times, but this is indicative of a complain-oriented way of planning

I like European power better. You start with 240V, so you can use thinner which is less expensive. All your appliances use one breaker each. Multiple devices are protected at once from ground faults and the threshold is less twitchy. Cords have fuses. Slightly more shock hazard. Cheaper overall.

Not with the ground fault protection. They just have fewer nuisance faults, since they set their threshold higher. We may be killing more people by having people disable the ground fault protection to stop the nuisance tripping. We also allow 16AWG extension cords for heaters (fire hazard).

European panels aren't approved for US installs. We base our electricity on 120V 60Hz for standard appliances, except, really, a lot of it is dual voltage now, since the appliances are sold world wide. A single AFCI/GFCI breaker is $70 dollars, and you may need 20 of them or whatever.

I think reducing the noise is actually good. We have many opportunities to reduce noise from traffic to leaf blowers to loud music. We seem to just put up with lots of it.
