#StetChat A7 No Frankenstein's monster here! I do sample edits for free but I specifically ask for the middle for partially this reason. I always ask about previous editors and what stage of drafting so this might help catch that early on too.

#stetchat a7 No frankenedits yet (which I wouldn't do). If it was JUST for line/copy, I think I could do it on a long enough sample, but definitely wouldn't feel like it was enough to make any developmental calls.

A7: No, which is an advantage of working with known clients. #StetChat

A7. Not that I'm aware of, at least not yet. I have been asked for sample edits, and I'll do them for some projects, but it hasn't happened often and so far has just been on the opening chapter or two.

A7: I dodge this primarily by accepting work only from pub houses. Life is hectic enough with my other jobs; I am not about to waste my time on detective work and extra admin!

EXACTLY—it helps weed out people looking for a quick, free franken-edit. #StetChat

A7 #StetChat I don't provide free samples anymore, so I should be safe from this monstrosity.

👀 good to know!! #StetChat

Hmmmm... not sure about phrases but one thing is seeing the same (or spookily similar!!) job/book popping up at different times on different job boards (and noticing if the contact info is slightly changing with each repost... 🥸).
