I’ve been a Type 1 diabetic for 40+ years. In that time, treatment has progressed enormously. Continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps, and now advances in transplants. Social media got worse, sure, but there’s good stuff out there.

As the spouse of a diabetic, good point. About 20 years ago a GP asked her why she needed to do more than one finger prick test a day. Now she has a CGM and a pump that talk to each other.

When I got my diagnosis, the only tests were urine tests that took a couple of minutes of chemistry to tell you roughly how high your blood sugar was. Now my CGM yells at me in the middle of the night if my blood sugar is too low. Incredible progress.
