I don’t pay for a VPN. I trust HTTPS and don’t have to change my geo to watch sports or out of market shows. I’m traveling (Maldives!) and either the country or the resort has a pretty severe Internet filter...

What I've done in similar circumstances is ssh into the server at home with the -D option that sets up a Socks5 proxy for you and then tell one browser to use that. Of course, that works better on a laptop than the phone.
