The automated bag drop at narita seems to have fewer steps and be less prone to failing than London Heathrow. Also, narita was very fast in general for things to happen. London Stansted is the slowest airport I have ever used for anything.

In general I don't find those very fun, but gun to my head I'd say the ability to make more useful things with fewer base parts. Get really combinatorial with it. Players should never discover everything.

Once the player knows whats needed for an upcoming situation, and their pants are full of the crafting materials needed to make it, a crafting system is just busywork that pads out the game's runtime - especially if they can only be made one at a time. Like just have the drops be the item already??

I played some pretty cool stuff. Conductus and slaptrax had excellent game feel. Nientum op 0 was kinda insane. Fruitbat factory (100% oj guys) had a cool celeste-like puzzler they were showing off right across from our booth. Also kokutoto was a really funny little guy of a game

I think as someone with a lot of ocs this is naturally just going to come down to "someone I don't remember" but I think Ashe kinda doesn't do anything interesting. Obviously I could make her do something interesting but it would feel forced I think.

any advice for learning/understanding the bare minimum amount of japanese (has listened to vocaloid and jpop for years and has never made an effort)

You can say the English Thing slowly and with a Japanese accent and it works surprisingly often (If you have paid enough attention to the way loan words get pronounced in vocaloid and jpop you should have a handle on the rules for breaking words down like that)
