Saw a post about King of Dragon Pass Honestly it's been so long since I've dug into a classic PC game of the adventure/strategy variety. I ought to give it a go.

Not only an incredible talent, but a rare talent who also thought it was funny to just voice random memes every once in a while

Unbelievable loss. An amazing talent, and just a really, really good person. www.instagram.com/p/De8RFy4pyov/

Beat RE2 for the first time. Absolutely fucking stunning game... loved it to bits

I do still want to do commentary for Eschatos when I am finally up for it. I thought of doing one for Mushi but that might come at a much later time.

I did not get round to this but I've decided to upload the clears on youtube. Mushi I've got the stream clip but also the replay I was very lucky to get working cause the PC version of mushi's replay system tends to be pretty scuffed lmao I'll link them shortly

that's two 1ccs I want to record commentary for now lol Been slacking with them but I might as well do both this weekend or something

ok low latency mode is insane the game feels SO MUCH BETTER to play now Will probably work on a DDP clear rather than mushi maniac now

downloaded the MAME romset, usually I am an fbneo guy but it's been a hot minute since I last used MAME so let's give it a go (mainly wanna see how DDP feels on it basically)

I think it might be a mushi maniac grind angle... it's calling to me more than ddp is

I always found it kinda weird that pease changed to pea(s). Like why? Are you ever having 1 pea, or 7 peas?

Oh wait, I forgot about this absolute classic. An instance of eating a single pea

Nasrudin's son turned to him one day with a question. “Father, where does God live?” “How should I know?” replied the Mulla. “He has never invited me to visit Him.”

I apparently thought almost all of my follows are mutuals and apparently that's not the case lol, might try and fix that tbh, I know a lot of you are probably worth following back

This is actually a genre of video I really like lol, cause the ones who like it let me vicariously experience a beloved game for the first time, but yeah when they don't like it I just wanna help people like that. cause it's not necessarily the game itself a lot of the time

This has mainly been spurred by vids of people going "I finally tried *acclaimed game*" and then they end up hating it because they operated on some really flawed assumptions that modern games tend to instill in the player, I wanna help dispel them before they ruin a game they would've liked

every now and then I check out youtube videos of people getting into old games, or giving advice on getting into them I've had an idea on some more practical tips for playing older games. Stuff that is basically obvious for a lot of people but the ones who don't know it need to hear it

Also I've been through this myself lol, I think when you play games from your childhood and beyond you develop an instinct for the design patterns there, but when you go to games from before your time those insticts suddenly stop working, even if those games are actually simpler overall

Old games absolutely decimate the naturally incurious types too lol, but like... it's not like those people are incapable of enjoying old games, they were enjoying those games back in the day too. Again it's just about stripping the assumptions away and operating under a different set of assumptions

I saw a post that offhandedly mentioned spispopd and it reminded me of spooky castle so I think I will be playing that either tonight or tomorrow

realising I played Ultima 1 and 2 I decided to put my ratings on backloggd, and honestly I burst out laughing when I saw all the Ultima 2 reviews it really was just ass wasn't it

In music, there are musicians that "reject" western music theory while still fully adhering to it. Basically just professing their ignorance while thinking the formal concepts they subconsciously adhere to are beneath them

I very much enjoy music that genuinely works outside of the conventional musical traditions, as well as those who genuinely innovate. I'm starting to find that the more games I play the more my tastes in games are reflecting this too, either mastering the traditions or genuinely bucking the trends

LRP I don't think I'm blanket anti-ai necessarily, but I've literally only taken issue with the stance once, ever. it's not only entirely justifiable but it's also the much more pragmatic stance because it is used for so much fucking evil right now

tbh it wasn't even about the anti-ai stance, moreso people not reading things LOL cause in the grand scheme of things it wasn't really a big deal. people react to misleading headlines all the time and I really really really wish this shit would stop

Watching an old 90s quiz show which has managed to make me have an opinion on quiz shows If it's a multi-choice quiz please don't put "none of the above" as an answer... it's such a fucking cop-out please come up with an actual believable wrong answer. This show did it on EVERY QUESTION

I kinda took it for granted before seeing this lol but there's definitely an art to thinking of good wrong answers that can either mislead the player or feel like a legitimate candidate answer if the player is forced to guess
