It’s good they aren’t closing the most isolated ones but even the big bases aren’t in spots with lots of close by grocery options. More like which Walmarts 30 minutes away you want to go to.

People may not be aware that commissaries don’t charge tax. Military families will be paying more for food.

Many junior enlisted troops already have lost SNAP which they depend on to eat. Now, if SNAP is funded, these troops will have less buying power with their SNAP benefits because the commissary is closed. Brilliant.

As a veteran, I think it’s important to mention that it’s not just service members but veterans that rely heavily on commissaries. Republicans are going to starve our troops, veterans, and 40 million Americans. All for Trump’s ego.
