... Isn't there some sort of underground centrifuge that's supposed to create electricity underground in France somewhere... that is supposed to be already happening? It was YEARS ago I heard about it .... fission, fusion or some complicated shit.

Bloomberg has the world building 9TW of Solar over the next 10 years. Prices of solar decrease every year. Add in battery storage and all of this is moot.
