ok, for no reason but just because I think it's neat here's a thread of famous people with old gaming hardware or old computers. big 90s and Y2K vibes. Let's start with Shakira, Halle Berry and Bjork using a desktop computer

David Bowie preferred Macs

here Gillian Anderson is at an event, and she's playing The X-Files Game (that's the actual name, an FMV X-Files computer game), 1998

Milla Jovovich answers fans questions in an online chat on AOL, February 13, 1995.

while Mick Jagger preferred CompuServe, December 7 1995

this one is from a skit, Aubrey Plaza setting up a whole desktop PC in a Starbucks.. remember when people started to bring their laptops to cafeterias?

I love these two so I'll break the thread theme of using old tech, because John Carmack. This is Robin Williams and Trent Reznor at E3 with Carmack from id software. Second photo is Trent Reznor with a Quake 1 tshirt, with David Lynch (NIN scored Quake, Trent and Robin Williams were both Doom fans)

speaking of Robin Williams, here's the guy waiting for Scandisk to finish on his PC (check out all the action figures and the Max Payne mousepad, what a nerd!)

the gameboy mania had hit everyone, there are two pictures of Hillary Clinton playing Tetris aboard the Air Force One.

I met Robin Williams in the mid '80s when he came in to our software store afterhours to buy some PC stuff for himself, and C64 stuff for his son. We chatted for a bit, and he switched to French when he found out I was from France. I miss that sweet dear man so much.
