one of the worst things about Trump (and the conservative movement generally) is how he's given so many people permission to be the worst possible versions of themselves. lot of people who kept a lid on it for the sake of family and friends just let themselves go completely

My uncle, a retired Episcopalian priest, says that the thing about Trump that makes him angriest is how he's licensed all of us -- his slobbering toadies and his staunchest haters -- to be our worst selves. He really does degrade every single fucking thing he touches.
