Makes little sense in an age of hypersonic and cruise missiles which could take out all the distributed fuel depots in the Pacific theater with relative ease. And then there's drones that can come from Chinese fishing vessels. The DOD still thinks its fighting WW2 and learned nothing from Ukraine.
