Expected...they want to see if the shoulder surgery impacted his throwing this year and it burns another year of this contract. They can snag one of the top 2 QB's in this years draft so let him start and then throw the newbie out there mid-season and release DW in '26.

Watson will start the year on the 4 week minimum IR next year. He won’t even count against the 53. If we find competent QB play somehow than he never sees the field again.
