The rise of anti-Semitism is real, Jonathan Chait writes. “But the Republican campaign to use it as a justification to extend political control over universities has nothing to do with protecting Jews”: theatln.tc/VN7wmJCf

Characterizing the pro-Palestine/anti-genocide student protest movement as “anti-Semitic” is disinformation. Jonathan Chait thinks he’s helping but he accepts the underlying logic of the very people demonizing and criminalizing the students. His analysis is weak and wrong.

Nah, nah, nah. Fuck Jon Chait. No sir. Jon was in early on the "free speech" charade. Punching left all the damn time, now you calling for help? Can you at least issue a mea culpa? Jon, youre part of the reason we're in this moment.

Nope. Not all Jewish people are colonizers who want to ethnically cleanse/kill the Palestinians people. Zionism is closer to Nazism than it is to Judaism. Conflating the 2 is harmful to Jewish people, almost antisemitic even...

Exactly. Chait is using this line of exquisite rabbinical bull shit to support the whine of anti-semitism enveloping wherever university, oy vey, with the objective of intentionally conflating anti- Greater-Israel Imperialism with anti-semitism. Jesus what an asshole.

What makes people so sure that campus antisemitic demonstrations are left wing? I think many in the Arab groups that run these demonstrations are right wing in their thinking. Because they call it anti-colonialist makes the whole demonstration and anybody who goes along with them left wing?

This is the response I'd expect if you were shown a few random YouTube clips but have no idea where or when they were taken, yet decided to generalize anyways.

The anti-Semitism cry is being used as a cudgel to beat back the public outrage over the genocide that Israel is committing. Whatever shame or fear Jews in the US are currently feeling is nothing compared to what the Palestinians are having to live through in Gaza right now. Spare me…

Jews, of all races, should be the most outraged by a genocide. The fact that a Jewish ethno-state is perpetrating one after what happened last century is beyond belief and speaks volumes about the depravity of human nature.
