It has a 10,000 monkeys quality to it so I wouldn't wait for logical written proof. Is Ai Inventive or just derivative? The solutions were based on generations of work done by mathematicians. Who owns the work product? Is it published & available for further inquiry or does access cost $$$$?

Article says last week Claude disproved the 87 year-old Jacobian conjecture, no the same as it’s been verified because the solution was so simple. Not the same as claim OpenAI cracked the Navier-Stokes, but still pretty big.

Agree. The NY Times podcast (9/16/25), about a chatbot insisting that a random guy had solved a complicated math issue, demonstrated that the chatbot was programmed to provide positive reinforcement - even if false. It’s entirely possible that AI is using tactics (time, number of bots) to fool us.

BTW, note that OpenAI did not start from scratch. It built on the work that people did "for nearly a century". It doesn't sound as amazing and might get fewer clicks I suppose.

If someone guesses the correct answer (although that still needs to be verified), that doesn't necessarily mean they're intelligent. bsky.app/profile/plan...

If anyone believes that there is such a thing as "artificial intelligence," this will confuse them. A large language model, no matter how it's packaged, cannot be considered intelligent. arxiv.org/abs/2506.21521
