But I think a fundamental issue here is that many jobs offer a pittance. Work 80 hours a week, still not able to afford rent? The only people who would take this are the immigrants for whom those wages are much more meaningful back home. Incel culture doesn’t help though.

As far as I can tell this article is at best a hypothesis and is not based in any definitive studies. The data points they cite are real, the argument about causation—whether access to digital entertainment causes men to choose unemployment is specious at best
