i thought my atproto “has a normal opinion about AI” labeler was broken but actually it’s correctly not tagging any users at all

there is no resolution to that constraint. either you think everything will be business as usual, which is an insane thing to think given how the tech is progressing, or you think that nothing will be the same ever again, which (even if true) means you have insane millenarian beliefs

it’s not great!! it’s broken pretty much all my heuristics

just because no technology has ever completely upended reality for everyone alive in just a few short years doesn’t mean that no such technology exists

I think we're past the point where "industrial revolution" scale change is baked in; I take seriously that we are now "emergence of multicellular life" scale

The magnitude is undoubtedly on par with the development of agriculture or writing but the velocity is much, much greater
