Let's be clear. I don't think it's the local LEOs that are culpable, although some might be, but it's the Dishons that ICE appeals to that are on a hair-trigger. Why wouldn't they welcome a ridiculously profitable position where no one else would hire them?

I'm sick of seeing them with tattoos and beards, green uniforms and sunglasses. The coarseness and the thuggish aesthetic are all of a piece with the brutality.

These aren't police we are talking about. The incident in MSP was an escalation beyond the pale. One that I think is unmatched by anything we have seen in recent memory of any local police short of the George Floyd incident.

There's an eyewitness report that the thugs were screaming "Move! Move! Move!" and then there's video where she says she's moving and then new thugs scream "GTFO of the car" These aren't police, & even police have a hard time giving consistent orders. (c.f. Daniel Shaver) bsky.app/profile/drf5...

I would feel threatened if an officer said, "Get the fuck out of the car."

The rampant abuse of police over centuries in this country, now with Video, negates any politeness in 2026. Not to say there are not good cops just doing their job….but police unions do whatever they can to protect the bad ones. Police Unions are the only union the GOP protects.
