WHERE IS CONGRESS? Trump is waging an illegal war in Iran, and Americans are dying. Article I belongs to the People, not the President. Email, Fax or USPS Congress to demand an end to the strikes & immediate accountability: resist.bot/petitions/PA... 🚨🇺🇸 #WarPowers #NoWarWithIran #Impeach

As Bessent answered in the affirmative his head shakes in the negative. He didn't have enough time to convince himself of the lie he was telling when he said the war is going great and Trump is in great spirits.

I am trying to think why the Secretary of Treasury would need to be called to the Situation Room in an urgent manner like that. Sec of Treasury doesn't scream "Situation Room" to me. How can he assist in an "urgent" matter. Doesn't make sense to me, but someone can enlighten me.

Scott Bessent would gladly send his children to war under Donald Trump after they finish their chores on his soybean farm.

He probably saw raw video of people, whether soldiers or not, getting blown to bits…at 4k…while OJ47 and Kegsbreath slap each other on the back. Just the Jenius’ way of showing off

Bessent got the short straw and it was his turn to blow Trump and then clean him up and put on a fresh diaper and one cannot blow off that assignment, press be damned.

I thought that news coincided with the ruling that charges against Powell were stopped? Bessent being shaken because of the shit fit he was going to have to endure from Donny Dicknuts

Treasury Secretary Bessent was summoned to the Situation Room. But Treasury has no operational role in a short war. So, why? Buyers of Treasury bonds are doubting the US's ability to pay them back. Defaults loom. This is pushing the US closer to insolvency. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

bloomberg.comWar Spending Sinks Long-Term Government Bonds on Deficit WorriesInvestors are growing worried that the Iran war will drive up expenditures and swell budget deficits in countries around the world, sparking a selloff in long-term government bonds.

For a long time besant has been included in foreign policy in a way that a treasury secretary shouldn't be. I've been wondering what that's about. So this isn't the worst weird thing about him.

Really appreciate this conversation. And I'm sorry, I have a bug-a-boo: it drives me bonkers when they use trump's propaganda terminology "liberation day" for his tariff time horizon event. They should put quotes around it or some other caveat.

Hes blurting that out because thats exactly what he knows is not true and hes trying to make it sound convincing. No one asked him if the war was going well or if he would send his kids or if he thinks they know what theyre doing (slightly longer clip of his response elsewhere) told on himself

Don't think for one minute that Hangover Hegseth wouldn't intervene to get Bessent's kid a desk job MOS and make sure he never gets deployed to the Middle East (if he actually did join). The kids of billionaire Republicans aren't doorkickers.

I wish you had captured & played the part where Scott says that his son is thinking of joining the military and how he supports it b/c the administration is doing such a bang up job on the war.

Gotta wonder if Trump is asking Bessent if he thinks he can buy his way out of the mess they've created. Can we write them a check and call it good?
