Our democratic system of government, we’ve learned, relies far too much on people rather than systems. That must be fixed if the democracy is to survive

Well, many (most?) of the decisions that have gone against trump have been temporary or were reversed by other courts later on. In many instances, what we thought were “laws” were actually norms or precedent, which he happily ignores. My confidence in rule of law is low.

Don’t forget that the Supreme Court gave him immunity.

Vote out almost every Republican member of Congress and this shit would come to an end.

The only institution that has even remotely tried to save us is the law. Our Constitution was set up to make Congress the ultimate mechanism of restraint, not the Courts. There lies our downfall. Thanks Mitch.

One would think this would be a huge priority on the Democrats’ policy agenda for the upcoming elections.
