I think The Bulwark was right with its first thought - " . . . the decline and fall of a republic." The bulwark (pun intended) of the us was its justice system. There is no way to 'repair' a system that has been so ripped asunder. With it gone, the country's gone. Too bad, just a matter of time now.

* If it were not for the billionaires political donors using Trump for insider trading merger deals and dead-letter-literal-interpretation of the Bible Jesus hypocrites obsessed with abortion and gays, there never would have been a President Trump. Trump is just the symptom. *

It’s about the violence. Donald Trump is an abuser and a deeply violent man. He’s violent because he can be and he’s hosting a violent event because that’s who he is.

I’ve got to believe the taxpayers will end up paying for it while the sponsor revenue will be stolen by one of the trumps.

This captures the article perfectly! It’s about the UFC fight. Well done The Bulwark! “After all, it’s vulgar, it’s violent, it’s commercial, it’s grandiose, it’s tacky, and it dishonors a place once thought worthy of care and respect. In other words, it’s Donald Trump.”
