1776 is not what we think it is. There was still a long war to fight and win. It was 1783 when the world recognized the USA as sovereign. So in this 250th since the D of I was signed it is time to fight a new war against Repugnants. Maybe in 2033 we will have the real 250th birthday party.

You do know most Americans are not going to see themselves in the origin story, because of how they have been treated since either their ancestors were brought here or coming on their own. I was born here and being of mixed races don't see myself in the origin story 😒

It's hard to see ourselves in our revolutionary origins when so many Americans would be Tories and fight against the Founding Fathers based on their support of Republican Authoritarian policies, particularly NSPM-7. It's tough when some "Patriots" are Tories who wrap themselves in our flag
