We may be being naive here. What if we give Trump a little more respect for his cunning. He wants to aid Putin and this gives home cover (acting to reduce gas prices). He is more evil lawless and cunning than we give him credit for when we say he’s just dumb.

It’s not only in conflict with sanctions, it’s in conflict with the Constitution. Only Congress can appropriate funds for purchases. They, most certainly, did not appropriate those funds.

Totally agree. I think Putin initiated this deal and closed it by telling tRump all that diesel will cause our prices at the pump to plunge and tRump would take the credit. tRump was played *again*.
