Irrelevant. It's just bad science fiction they've deluded themselves into believing. You're thinking harder about it than they do.

Spoiler alert, that's their endgame in order to rebuilt the world under their own rules Because they see dystopic stories as a roadmap, not a warning

This is why I have de-leveraged almost completely. The whole economy is being led by fantasists and it's not going to end well. To think that value can be created without labour is to fundamentally misunderstand economics.

Is there a plug?

There's a section in Marx's Grundrisse that talks about how capitalism will essentially break down once exploiting labour is no longer the driving force behind profit. If this article is anywhere near true then that's what we're looking at - systemic collapse.

Two scenario’s ;) 1 humans can go extinct, AI robots can live happy forever. 2 humans can make their own economy like before the Middle Ages and try live of the land. AI robots can live happily forever;)

AI Techbros' job is replacing everyone's job with AI/robots, so no surprise there. Making such an economy work in reality they generally just sort of hand-wave away...

You do realize that this formulation: “X isn’t just about Y. It’s something different/worse.” …is directly modeled on a verbal tic “popularized” by LLMs. It’s been picked up/parroted endlessly by human writers after appearing incessantly in AI text output. I see it a dozen or more times per day.
