There's no obvious alternative so this seems overblown. Until one emerges the dollar should be safe. Maybe something that might come to ahead a couple of decades from now.

BRICS scares US. If countries leave the $ especially petrodollars, US economy could crash under its own debt. Many currencies r swapping $ for gold or buying other bonds like EURO. Probably why € is strengthening
