I was reporting on the trafficking and exploitation of migrant workers in the Gulf when a source I had known for more than a decade reached out. They told me that child sexual abuse trafficking in the US was surging. As the Covid pandemic pushed predators online, some were using Facebook and Instagram to buy and sell children. It was 2021 and I was about to begin an investigation with Mei-Ling McNamara, a human rights journalist, that would lead to the tech company Meta losing a multimillion-pound court case in March this year. The company had not yet rebranded and was known as Facebook, and there had not been any reporting on how children were being trafficked on its platforms. I get that these platforms are evil & they're making money off this so they don't want to stop it. But, honestly, where are the parents here? Why isn't anyone asking how it is a 12-yr-old has naked selfies on her own Insta account, and her parents didn't know? Why weren't they monitoring?

The Guardian has been told time and time again transphobia is a far right scheme and Maya Forstater is a liar and withholding healthcare from trans kids is child abuse. This is the one investigation they refuse to do because it aligns with their bigotry.

It should not be punished in millions. It should be punished in % of the company , like 25% of value hence actual stocks is transferred to the victims. Next offence : 50% and so on.

The monetary part should be charged in percent of the company. But people who run things, the execs making the big bucks, should be held criminally liable as well. They should go to jail. Corporate personhood allows impunity - there are no consequences for actions.

A person pointed out to me that a significant Meta investment group also is the main pipeline for feeding new females into the cartel forced prostitution and drug distribution pipeline via tik-tok, Instagram, and Playboy. The more I look at it the clearer the picture becomes. China is involved.
