Sarah Wynn-Williams’ book, Careless People, describes the phony tech-liberalism that cloaks this cold and ruthless company. What amazes me is why anyone bothers with their awful products.

In the movie "The Social Network," Zuckerberg is portrayed as wanting to be different. LMAO! His idea was unique, but he's very typical of the billionaire crowd today. And that, my friends, is a great deal of what's wrong with society.

That’s probably great for morale to everyone who’s still there. If anyone still thinks big tech is a good employer think twice - if you’re not a really good AI engineer, chances are they’ll try to automate you away.

Here I actually think they are all up to fight the talent war - but only for the good and experienced ones. My friend with a decent degree and no experience in ML has trouble finding a job right now.

Have I read this correctly - 26 people out of 8,000 laid off were on leave for reasons associated with disability or pregnancy? I don't like Meta and definitely don't like management by AI, but that sounds like a fairly normal redundancy to me.
