Well, you know when the us is in a war, everyone paid for it with, like their life savings and, like, you know, good with it. So we don’t know why they’d complain now, you know, just cuz we aren’t in a war but we still need money so,like none of the rich ( REAL Muricans!) have to be bothered w taxes

There was a headline in our local paper (TN) yesterday about how our local food banks will be hurt by this. But what was just as horrible were the people saying,”Good. Now those getting handouts will have to get a job.” Food insecurity is bad in this area & there are many reasons for it. ⬇️

No one knows what it is to live in another's shoes. This lack of empathy has grown since Ronald Reagan bashed government workers, denigrated recipients of government assistance, went crazy with "bootstraps." He gave encouragement for the selfish, greedy GOP social darwinists of today. Evil.

I can remember hearing a quote (although I don’t remember who said it) that was “just don’t be poor”. So ridiculous. And everything this administration is doing is designed to take more money from people. Maybe if it happens to them, they’ll develop some empathy.

Most funding was from public grant allotment set up years ago for food banks. GOP did 1 thing. Pissed off the ultra rich with this halting of ultra wealthy grant programs. Do not touch my grants. I will manage grant funds myself from now on. US Government no longer collects 15% distribution fee.
