Every facet of generative AI has made my professional life worse, without question, but THIS specific aspect has been driving me NUTS. Clients, who have made me toil for weeks over indescribably small details, are now approving & producing in-house commercial artwork that looks like a fever dream.

You can have it both ways: I’ve had clients make me toil for weeks trying to turn their AI pitch image into something better/more considered/production ready, etc, only to slowly realise they just want the AI image. Nothing compares to the dopamine hit they got when they instantly “created” it.

I’ve experienced this a lot, and for me it perfectly illustrates how they will drop artists as soon as the tech makes it viable for the required end result.

Yep, I've been getting this more and more the last two years. They project SO much onto their terrible AI creations. That and it has eroded any sense of true timescale when making something functional 😔
