I think it was Christmas Eve. This is still one of my favorite photos of all time. Makes us look peaceful. I'll take delusions where I can get them these days.

When I was 5 — in 1973 — I read a book called You Will Go To The Moon. No one has gone to the moon since I read that book.

I remember it as if it was yesterday. I was in the army then. All work stopped, because we had to watch the "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind." moment. It was something special indeed.

We can't even find a Porta Potty on the moon, but they want to go to Mars?

God bless all of you - all of you on the good Earth.

That would be the most humbling and inspiring views ever to be experienced. Maybe one day it will be common place as we move across the sky, but until then I will ever be in awe of what those brave astronauts witness

Earth rise our planet as seen from space is very small so we really need to take better care of her.

I was 14 years old when this photo came out. Christmas 1968 was so cool following Apollo 8 go to the moon. 1969 was of course just unreal and brilliant A belated Happy Earth Day. We all thought in the 70’s photos like this would make us take better care of our home. It helped a bit I guess.

The Apollo 8 mission is arguably just as significant as the moon landing. It was a much-needed wake up call.

And some people want to move away from that 🙄
