Brain breaking numbers of celestial bodies. Are the colors applied by NASA or are they real?

The colours are real but they are processed, because the data are taken in the infrared and we can't natively see in those wavelengths. However, the *relative* colours are true. The bluer stuff is relatively closer than the redder stuff.
