Today I learned that one in three children doesn't go on holiday in France. That's completely irrelevant. What is relevant is that this guy, according to estimates, caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of the world's poorest people by withdrawing humanitarian aid through the DOGE.

A thought for my friends across the Channel who recently saw this guy calling for civil war—on racial grounds, no less—in their country, and who is now being rewarded for it. You can say goodbye to your imposter syndrome. (I’m not referring to Musk here, but to everyone who allows this to happen.)

I don't know if it's because I'm neurodivergent, but every time I see Musk's name mentioned somewhere (which, unfortunately, happens several times a day in this world), I think of the people who died in the most horrific circumstances because of him (and Trump and their voters, of course).

I was at this party, many years ago now, and I met this lady. She was like 93 or 95 years old. She told me: ”I was born into a conservative home, then I became a liberal to revolt against my parents, then I became a centrists, then a social Democrat.” …

I've been wondering why I'm feeling unusually grumpy and sour this week. Might be fighting a little cold, might be because of this. The cold injustice of the bullies, the evil, and the indifferent being delighted and rewarded while their harms go unaccounted for and so many suffer needlessly.

It's the indifference that bothers me the most. Whether it's toward all those poor people, the Somali referee at the World Cup, the arbitrary executions of people at sea, the environment we leave to our children, or so many other things.
