Battlestar Galactica Deadlock (delisted), Star Trek Resurgence (delisted), Aliens Fireteam Elite (unplayable on Switch)... Bad time for good games based on established sci-fi IPs. Or just bad time for video games.

The Switch version of Aliens: Fireteam Elite – which ran via cloud streaming – has been shut down. This makes the full game – including modes that can be played offline on other platforms – entirely unplayable for those who bought it for $30-60. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/aliens-...

Really weird timing for Aliens given that the sequel is only a few weeks away? Maybe that's exactly why it was though & they wanna kick people over to the new one.

A new media release breathes extra value into the licende, give opportunity for it to be shopped around to a new developer. With online games, that seems to mean they kill the game you already paid money to "buy".

That's why I'm sticking to PC (and mostly GOG) nowadays... Nintendo has been a particularly bad contender when it comes to keeping access to your games. I've bought a few games digitally on the Wii U in the past and now that the shop is gone, no more access to them.
