NEW: Remedy's latest game, Control Resonant, is filled with art galleries. The galleries are filled with real art When I began talking to Remedy about it, I was delighted to discover who the artists are: many are the game developers' parents My story... www.gamefile.news/p/control-re...

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Oh no 😭 One of the last members of the USS Enterprise has left. RIP Walter Marvin Koenig (1936-2026) Star Trek, Babylon 5, Moontrap, The Starlost, The Questor Tapes, Futurama... What a career in sci-fi. I will miss Pavel Chekov. Again 😞

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

Oh hey, this is cool. I played a bunch of an early build a couple of years ago & it was extremely promising then.

When back to back Warhammer video game releases can't even keep your small studio fully afloat, shit is fucking *grim*.

Today, peak is 16 years old. Since the last time I posted about this game's birthday, so many things have been achieved that were previously thought impossible. What an amazing game with such an amazing community around it. The developers at Harmonix really made something special with this one.

This kinda stuff is why I just won't go anywhere near that shit, ethics or no I don't know what (if anything) is different in Big Tech jobs. Test coverage? Many undependent micro services? Maybe you've huge QA teams? But lol games ain't got none of that and we actually gotta support our shit yeah?

I love being reminded that the audience really doesn’t give a shit about the developers. Like, forget that one of the most influential studios in our industry was just executed by its publisher, just make sure the product continues on the assembly lines!

I recall someone (was it Craig P) actually pitching Valve about getting unemployed games journalists to actually curate the platform properly. We’d love to kick shit like this off into space.

Clip from a seminar I did w @t4twrestle.bsky.social. We were talking about how hard it is to stay motivated when you don’t see yourself represented in media, or when you feel unmotivated creatively, or when your goals simply feel impossible. Going to give my own takeaway on the demise of Bioware, which still makes me very sad. The TLDR: Bioware was not killed suddenly by a private equity acquisition. It was slowly strangled by idiots who didn't understand what made Bioware great - some at EA but also some inside of Bioware leadership
