All the spaceships from For All Mankind and Star City in one article! That's a lot of spaceships from an alternative universe, and concept art, and cool stuff. πŸ–– This is just a (very long) overview, but expect to dive deep into the creation of these designs in the coming weeks and months.

If I see that people like it, I’ll do the same for other universes: a quick, comprehensive overview of all the ships, with concept art and a bit of commentary. And I want to start with Alien, because it doesn't have any more ships than For All Mankind. 🀭

What were people's feelings on Star City? To me, It felt like it was written by Ronald Reagan and Bush sr. I felt like I had to force myself to watch it. In an era where shows get canceled at a whim, is there going to be another season? It needs a chance to redeem itself, imo. Thoughts?

It's portrayal of 'real' Soviet Russia may have been off. But it was great, bold and brave drama. The ending was not very believable, but it was great showmanship all the same. All the cold-war spy shenanigans were great. I loved it. I do hope they do another season, but to continue, not to redeem.

To compare FAM had me in tears. Even choking up trying to explain it to family and friends. It made me think, wonder, where we would be had we not wasted so much over oil. Star City had me rolling my eyes and waiting for the wonderment and thinking FAM gave me. And those moments never came.

I would rather had my taxes at the time spent on space rather than wars and oil. I think that Star City's Russia isn't supposed to be inspirational. I think it's a way to tell a cool cold war tale in a version of Russia that 1850's American people *thought* existed. wonderment isn't on the table.

I study propaganda. Many Latin Americans from Florida to Argentina believe the Soviet Union still exists. In an era where white boomers had to run guns down south and assassinated US college students, Star City comes off as blind, backwards, and redundant, not as inspirational as For All Mankind.
