All the spaceships from For All Mankind and Star City in one article! That's a lot of spaceships from an alternative universe, and concept art, and cool stuff. 🖖 This is just a (very long) overview, but expect to dive deep into the creation of these designs in the coming weeks and months.

If I see that people like it, I’ll do the same for other universes: a quick, comprehensive overview of all the ships, with concept art and a bit of commentary. And I want to start with Alien, because it doesn't have any more ships than For All Mankind. 🤭

Right, I've started doing some research for Alien. 😇

While digging through my archives, I rediscovered an interview with Alien supervising model maker Martin Bower that I conducted 15 years ago. 👀

The pleasure lies in the search. Book 1 done.

Another day, another book about Alien.

The annoying thing is that some of these books are in French, which means I'll have to find PDFs of the English versions to track down the quotes. 🤭

Not a lot about spaceships 🤭 (As expected)

Next!

(This is turning into a thread about my work process 🤭) As expected, the book on Prometheus is full of spaceships stuff. Even though I’ve already narrowed it down by cutting out 90%, I’m going to have to sort through them (because the idea isn’t to plunder the books 🙃) Some are better than others.

The dark blue bookmarks are for anything related to ships. The lighter-colored bookmarks are for other topics I want to cover later. Next, I'll look for the quotes that interest me, then select the most important ones. The next step will be to use it as a basis for interviews with the designers.

Done 🫡

The work never stops.

The research process is complete. You should see the first fruit of this work very soon—ahead of others. I hope you like the Alien ships.
