“Self reported”, so just as functional as the “check this box if you are over NN age”. What is the point of all this work for a meaningless verification?

S.5090 explicitly allows self-reported birth dates — it bars requiring ID or biometrics. The mechanism is an age bracket the OS passes to apps; no one verifies the original date. Whether that unverified bracket justifies the account mandate is what the bill doesn't resolve.

Yeah, it's not better having this shit built into the OS. Worse by far actually, if it becomes legislated. Your OS becomes spyware, and it threatens to criminalize Linux and other open source systems.

All this while they still sheltering pdf servers and refusing to cooperate with law enforcement.

good job discord you’re now dogshit slop. i hope they go out of business and shut down forever tbh. make room for better shit

'Account signals', i.e. they monitor all your inputs and apply 'AI' to determine your age. They monitor. All. Your. Inputs. Discord is a scraping app.

Discord tracks the software you use and music you listen to. These are all external to Discord but Discord hooks in to your other system processes.
