Companies are doing this because VR has been the biggest tech hardware/feature flop since 3D TVs. But AR certainly will work! Pinky swear! Totally it will! It's completely different! It's entirely something else!

"Piloting a podracer at wild speeds through a Holotable that only becomes as large as your arms can stretch is a deeply flawed idea. I can’t see far enough ahead to plan turns, and it's never as thrilling as actually sitting in the cockpit." That's what I feared from the first look.

During peak pandemic, I was hanging out with friends EVERY evening, to play laser tag, Minigolf, watch movies together, or to just sit and chat! VR was one of the best purchases I've ever made. There's SO much potential! πŸ˜ƒ But it IS niche, and being run by disconnected billionaire toddlers. 😞

Great that it worked for you. It definitely can be fun. Still, 50% of people get nauseous in VR and 95% of buyers use it a few times and then it collects dust in a cupboard.

Haha, you're not wrong! 🀣 It's the wild west days of VR, and people's first experiences are usually with BAD hardware (like Google cardboard / other phone based things) OR, BAD software, like putting people on a rollercoaster. I've been VR'ing for near 10 years and I still can't do the coasters.. 🀒
