when i was in school, "revising a draft to make it yours" was called plagiariasm
"AI can draft an essay for you, especially if you give it a high quality prompt." Really? This is what MIT thinks high schoolers should learn? MIT's "Day of AI" dayofai.org provides materials for K-12 teachers and claims to have reached over 5,000,000 students to date. 1/2

My 'Notifications' page has completely changed. I disabled beta mode, but that didn't make it go back to how it was yesterday. WTF?! π©

if you never used llm coding tools, you should know: this is either manufactured for bait, or this person is the "holding-it-wrongest" user on the planet there's simply no benefit to not knowing the actual state of the thing you want to fight against. it is, in fact, a detriment.

I also have an Apple Extended Keyboard (I, not II) from just about 40 years ago, which works fine. Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
Seeing people weirdly are saying βApple products have always been bad quality and not durableβ and no, thatβs absolutely not the case. Amongst many other things Iβve an Apple computer literally from the 1970s and it still works fine (everything is factory).

The interface to AI is all wrong for the unsophisticated user who does not understand how ML/AI works. It is designed to give you a definitive answer. That is the wrong interface.

but the first gen ipod was great. mine still works, after a new battery. so was the first gen iphone. and the first gen imac. basically almost everything they made after 1998 was fine this is apple making new, huge leaps backward, just like they have on software quality
back in 2001, a high school friend got the first ipod. I had a discman; I asked if I should buy one. he said he was a nerd, and as a normal person I should never buy a first-gen apple product. thinking about this for no reason www.theverge.com/tech/1018290...

Weβre into year 2 into Apple discovering that covering app content with random floating UI elements is a shit idea that they never should have done https://www.macrumors.com/2026/10/25/apple-wants-to-fix-safari-on-iphone-duo/

So "ID required" laws for social media that compromise everyone's privacy due to data leaks and lock LGBTQ kids out of information have LITERALLY ZERO impact on safety? hashtag eyeroll www.theguardian.com/society/2026...
why do they need safety goggles when they could just genetically engineer extra eyes and exoskeletons
Think Captain America but for dogs. The start-up Warhound wants to create a new class of military superdogs using cloning and genetic engineering. We asked scientists what they think. sciam.com/article/warh...
