What I don’t get is if they want to position it as laptop replacement with full windowing—why don’t they enable the full windowing only when a mouse/trackpad and keyboard is connected

Even if you want full windowing (I don’t), the concept of closing and minimizing apps should not exist on an iPad.

I agree, at the very least they should make it optional and support the previous interactions (like in iOS 18, I miss that). I actually have a iPad that I’m not upgrading because of this.
