The Lowell Sun publishing reports of ICE being in town under the headline "ICE, ICE, Baby" is SO cringe. That track is 30 years old, and the situation isn't fucking funny. It's like anybody with any power or voice in this city is laughing at its residents 24/7. www.lowellsun.com/2025/03/30/t...

I was actually pleasantly shocked to hear them talk at all about the botched raid at Canal Place. I wouldn't have clicked it at all if it weren't for that effing headline (expecting the worst). Not sure how I feel about that.

I have so many feelings about that in general. ICE had the wrong building and someone let them in anyway? And were directed specifically at CP3 instead of nebulously "not here?" Resistance does not have to be big. You can just be dumb and unhelpful or give bad directions.

I am expecting too much. But it makes me itchy knowing how willingly or unknowingly people collaborate, and how close they are.

A (genuine and serious) piece of advice I have for surviving in this media environment so headlines are not the make or break thing is to use an RSS reader. Inoreader is good, website and app, can set up custom alerts and filtering. It helps, HUGELY, to keep tabs on things.

+1 on Inoreader. It is 90% of what I want, but man I miss old school Netvibes and Google Reader sometimes.
